Hector A. Cafferata, Jr. Elementary has been recognized by the FLPBIS Project as a 2023-2024 PBIS Model School-SILVER Level! We've been recognized for our work implementing a school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. PBIS is an evidence-based three-tiered prevention framework designed to improve and integrate all data, systems, and practices impacting student outcomes. National research shows that full implementation of PBIS leads to reduced exclusionary discipline and improved student and teacher outcomes.

The School District of Lee County is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Denise Carlin has been named the inaugural recipient of the Florida Department of Education’s newly established Commissioner’s Leadership Award.
