Moving from elementary to middle school is an exciting milestone, and at Hector A. Cafferata, Jr. K-8 School, we believe 6th grade should be more than just the next grade level—it should be the beginning of a pathway toward future success.

As a Leadership, Environmental Education, and Design Magnet School, Cafferata provides students with opportunities to discover their interests, develop new skills, and begin imagining where those interests might take them. Students can explore leadership electives and clubs, environmental education, STEM, culinary experiences, and hands-on learning in our LEGO STEM Lab. These experiences allow students to create, collaborate, problem-solve, and learn beyond the traditional classroom.

Our state-of-the-art new K-8 campus gives students access to modern learning spaces intentionally designed for collaboration, creativity, technology, and hands-on learning. Sixth graders benefit from the opportunities of a comprehensive middle school while remaining part of a supportive K-8 community where students, staff, and families know one another.

At Cafferata, we also understand that students achieve more when they know they belong. Through Capturing Kids’ Hearts, our teachers intentionally build relationships, create positive classroom communities, and ensure students feel connected to the adults and students around them.

The Cafferata Advantage is not about creating one path for every student. It is about helping every student discover the path that is right for them.
Our teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff work together to understand where each student is academically, socially, and emotionally and then provide the support, challenge, and opportunities needed to help them grow. Whether a student needs additional academic support, greater challenge, opportunities to lead, or a chance to discover a new talent or interest, our goal is the same: meet students where they are, help them grow, and build a pathway to success.

Sixth grade at Cafferata combines the personal relationships and supportive environment of a K-8 school with the academics, electives, clubs, technology, and specialized experiences of middle school.
