Support and Services for Military Families

American Flag with blue welcome letters

Welcome to the Military Resource page for Hector A. Cafferata Jr. K-8, a school proudly named in honor of a Medal of Honor recipient and distinguished veteran. Whether you are new to the area or just joining our school, we extend a warm welcome to your family and are committed to ensuring a smooth transition into our community. We consider it a privilege to serve those who sacrifice so much for our country, and we have gathered the resources on this page to help your family feel supported and at home.

welcome

We understand that transitioning to a new duty station can be a challenging time for both students and their families. To help ease the adjustment, we proudly offer support through Safety Patrol, 12 Strong, and LEED Ladies, our student-led transition teams dedicated to sponsoring new students and guiding them through their transition These programs are led by a dedicated coordinator and trained peer counselors who are committed to making every new military-connected student feel at home. During those first vital weeks, our team helps new students navigate the campus, build friendships, and explore the wide variety of resources, clubs, and activities available at Cafferata K-8.

In addition to student-led support, our school provides a counselor on campus daily to assist with any emotional or academic needs. If your family is transitioning from a military duty station, we are here to ensure your move is as seamless as possible. Please contact Michael Licata, Assistant Principal, to begin the transition process and join our community.
